About

Nadia Delane and Joanna Bavero met on the Peanut App, an app focused on making connections with other local moms. Sharing similar passions and artistic endeavors, they decided to fill the gap of what support was lacking in their creative and motherhood experiences and build their own artful mama village and community.

NADIA DELANE

Multimedia designer and visual storyteller Nadia DeLane is co-founder and co-director of Visual Muze—an artist residency located on Governors Island where makers impacted by Covid-19 are offered space to continue works in progress and create new stories. DeLane has consulted and produced creative content for organizations including the School of Visual Arts, Stone Lantern Films, and Parsons School of Design. Coif City, DeLane’s visual narrative documenting women’s hair journeys through hand typography and ink illustrations, sold at Printed Matter and Bluestockings in NYC, as well as Gosh! in London. Her fine art can be found on permanent display in Penn State University’s Africana Research Center and the Heart and Kidney Transplant Center at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. DeLane's community-based works have been featured in print and online publications including AI-AP's Design Arts Daily (DART). Her recent work, Memory Opus, exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York.

JOANNA BAVERO

Narrative fine artist and realism painter, Joanna Bavero received her MFA at Stony Brook University in 2014 and her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2007. Bavero has shown in both group and solo exhibitions in galleries such as The Richard Demato Gallery in Sag Harbor, NY, Gallery North, (curated by Phillip Pearlstein) in East Setauket, NY, Gristle Gallery in Brooklyn, NY , The Angel Orensanz Foundation for Contemporary Art in New York City and The Paul Zuccaire Gallery in Stony Brook, NY. She has been featured in publications and online galleries such as the International Emerging Artist Awards, Studio Visit Magazine and Direct Art Magazine.
